Appalachian regional commission (ARC)
Competitive grant funding is available for projects that benefit one or more of the seven counties in Appalachian SC.
Environmental and pollution control equipment exemptions
Businesses making qualifying investments in pollution control equipment to support environmental compliance may qualify for sales and use tax exemptions.
Opportunity Zones
The Opportunity Zone (OZ) program is a federal initiative designed to encourage economic development and job creation through long-term private investment in designated low-income urban and rural communities.
Recycling facility tax credit
South Carolina offers a credit equal to 30% of the cost of recycling property placed into service each year by qualified recycling facilities.
Revitalization of abandoned building credit
South Carolina offers incentives to support the revitalization of vacant buildings. Businesses that invest in qualifying properties may be eligible for a tax credit equal to 25% of rehabilitation expenses.
Textile revitalization credit
Companies that improve, renovate or redevelop abandoned textile mill sites in SC may be eligible for a tax credit equal to 25% of rehabilitation expenses.
