South Carolina supports life sciences expansion

Ritedose announced plans in 2022 to expand operations in Richland County. The company’s $81 million investment is to create 94 new jobs and expand their existing facility to provide manufacturing capabilities for 400 million additional doses. The company works locally with economic development partners like the Columbia Area Development Partnership and at the state level with SCbio (South Carolina’s life sciences economic development organization). The SC Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits related to this project and awarded a $500,000 Set-Aside grant to Richland County to assist with the costs of building improvements.
