bFIVE40 success story Focusing on innovative technical textile production

Female-owned bFIVE40 is a supplier to some of South Carolina’s leading automotive industry original equipment manufacturers, and it all started with the success of a pop-up inflatable toy. After scaling its operations to meet demand, bFIVE40 expanded its offerings—now including sustainable textiles production and a logo and uniformed apparel subsidiary, among other services.

Networking opportunities grew business success

The bFIVE40 team created new business connections thanks to the availability and help from the Governor, SC Commerce, government business policies and B2B networking opportunities. An apprenticeship program with Horry Georgetown Technical College and Apprenticeship Carolina developed a ready workforce and a partnership with Vocational Rehab helped bFIVE40 provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

“As a small business and as a female entrepreneur, business and government are truly a partnership in South Carolina.”
